Mount Meru, rising 4,566 meters above sea level, is Tanzania’s second-highest mountain and one of the most beautiful volcanic peaks in Africa. Located inside Arusha National Park, the mountain offers a challenging yet rewarding climb, with breathtaking views of wildlife, lush forests, and dramatic volcanic scenery.

Often considered the perfect warm-up for Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru provides excellent altitude acclimatization, diverse landscapes, and a quieter, less crowded trekking experience. The route takes climbers through rich montane forests, open heathland, and stunning rocky ridges leading toward the dramatic horseshoe-shaped crater.
