Day 1: Kigali – Akagera National Park

Depart Kigali in the morning and travel east toward Akagera National Park. Arrive in the park and enjoy an afternoon game drive across its scenic savannah landscapes. Search for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and other wildlife before heading to your lodge for the evening.

Day 2: Full-Day Akagera National Park

Enjoy a full day exploring Akagera with morning and afternoon game drives. Search for the park’s Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos, while discovering its beautiful combination of savannah, woodland, wetlands, and lakes. An optional boat safari on Lake Ihema can provide close views of hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds.

Day 3: Akagera – Volcanoes National Park

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking – Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your gorilla trek. Once found, spend an unforgettable moment observing these endangered primates in their natural habitat before returning to your lodge.

Day 5: Volcanoes National Park – Kigali
