Depart Kigali in the morning and travel north toward Volcanoes National Park, passing through Rwanda’s spectacular rolling hills and countryside. Arrive in the Musanze area and settle into your lodge. The remainder of the day can be spent relaxing and preparing for the following day’s gorilla trek.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your gorilla trek. Trek through the montane forest of the Virunga Mountains with experienced guides and trackers as you search for a habituated gorilla family. Once you find them, enjoy a remarkable encounter observing their behavior and interactions in the wild. Return to your lodge after the trek to relax.
